Perspiration or sweating is our body's natural way of reacting to the heat caused by the environment, however, the resulting stains are tough and may not go with the help of simple cleaning process.
One should use these remedies only on cotton clothes and not on those which are made of silk or wool. Before using them, make sure that you check the label of the garment. For instance, if the label says that the cloth should be dry cleaned, you should avoid washing it at home and should give it to a professional dry cleaner.

Solar Energy

One of the most natural ways of removing stains is by exposing it to the sun's rays. Before this, you must prepare it by damping it with water and then applying a full strength detergent on it.
When the stain is completely coated with detergent, place the garment outdoors so that it is exposed to the sun. However, make sure that you spray some water on the stain frequently to get the best result. After a few hours, wash the garment as you do usually and let it air dry.

Hydrogen Peroxide and Baking Soda

Take ¼ cup of hydrogen peroxide and ¼ cup of baking soda in a bowl. Add water to it and mix till all the ingredients are completely blended. When this is done, pour this solution on the stained area and let is stay there for at least ½ an hour. After this, with an old toothbrush, rub the stained area gently to remove the residue. Once this is done, you can wash the garment in the usual manner with color or warm water.

Vinegar and Lemons

Sometimes, hydrogen peroxide and baking soda can be very harsh. In such cases, it would be best to use a milder solution like vinegar. For this, take 3 teaspoons of white vinegar and 4 ounces of water in a bowl. Pour this mixture on the stain and allow it to soak for at least 20 - 30 minutes. After the set time, launder the garment. Apart from vinegar, it is also a good idea to use a solution of lemon and water on the stain.

Aspirin and Cream of Tartar

Another home remedy is the usage of aspirin and cream of tartar. In a bowl, crush 3 white-colored aspirin tablets and add 3 teaspoons of cream of tartar. To this mixture, add one cup of warm water and mix thoroughly. Coat the bristles of an old toothbrush with this mixture and gently scrub on the stain. Allow it to soak in this mixture for 15 - 20 minutes and wash the garment.
An important thing you ought to know is that most of these methods will work only on white colored garments. If you have to remove perspiration marks from dark-colored clothes, it is necessary that you test the solution on an inconspicuous area like on the hemline to see whether it affects the original color of the garment.
