How to Remove Carpet Glue

Removing carpets, especially the glued ones can be very difficult, as the glue sticks to the floor and cannot be removed easily. There are many techniques and solvents available in home improvement stores that can make removing this glue.

Make sure you have kept all the doors and windows open in order to create chemical safety zone in the house. Use the vacuum to clean the flooring with the help of its flat floor attachment. • While removing the glue, make sure that you are equipped with all the safety guards that are required when working with chemicals. Safety glasses and hand-gloves must be used.
• One can also think of removing it by using water force of around 120 psi, or with detergent, boiling water, alcohol, etc. Material used for this process may vary according to the glue thickness.

• There are several non-toxic chemicals available for glue removal, which also makes the task eco-friendly.
• Before you remove the glue, you have to remove all the carpet remnants from the floor or concrete, with the help of the floor scraper.
• Use the best of the adhesive removers for this process. These removers are normally solvent based, and some of them are highly flammable.
