Material Required

  • A cleaning product, preferably with stain removal properties
  • Washcloth or paper towel
  • Laundry detergent
  • Dish washing detergent
  • Color safe bleach

Instructions

1. Spread the washcloth or paper towel on the floor or on a table. Take the piece of cloth that has been stained with crayon and spread it on the paper towel. Make sure that the stained side faces up.
2. Put some stain removal product on the stained area, and allow it to stay undisturbed for about 10-15 minutes. This is necessary to allow penetration of the active substance present in the stain removal product.
3. If needed, put some more amount of the stain removal product. The purpose is to saturate the cloth with it. This will make the task of removing the crayon stains a bit easier and simpler.
4. After the completion of the recommended time period, flip over the clothing. The side that was facing the floor should face up now.
5. Put some amount of stain removal product on the stained area on the cloth. Allow it to stay and saturate the cloth for 10-15 minutes.
6. Pour some dish-washing liquid on the stained area, and rub it gently with a brush. For better and faster cleaning, rub it separately on both the sides. Sprinkle a few drops of water if you feel the need to.
7. Take a bucket containing hot water. Soak the cloth in this hot water. This will break the bonding between the fabric and the stain ingredients. Allow it to stay for about half an hour.
8. Take the cloth out of the water and brush the stained region with a brush. Make sure that you do it gently, as excessive rubbing can tear the cloth.
9. Put the cloth in a bucket of plain warm water. Take it out again and squeeze out excess water.
10. Repeat the previous step 2-3 times. You will find that the stain has faded to a great extent.
