Scholasticus K
Are you tired of the extensive amounts of mold and mildew present in your home, and want to get rid of the mess? Well, here are some effective guidelines that will help you.
Mold and mildew are two types of very small minuscule fungi, that appear on surfaces that are constantly exposed to a mild amount of moisture. Both of these plants tend to appear especially in humid climates, and are seen during the rainy season. Mostly, they appear on wooden surfaces, organic fabrics, and, in some cases, even on the paint on the walls.

Experts and home appliance manufacturers have come up with some very effective and foolproof solutions that help in cleaning mold and mildew. These can be classified under two heads―artificial and natural.
Artificial methods are very simple to put into action, as one has to just spray a solution on the mold and mildew, and then clean up the fungal growth after a few minutes, with the help of a scraper or a cloth.
Artificial methods, however, are applicable and can be put into use only when the area to cleaned is small. For the removal of a very dense growth, one has to use conventional methods.
For the following methods, you need a bucket, a scraper brush, and a piece of cloth. Almost all methods are pretty simple and straightforward, which you can implement on your own. The material required is also very common and can be easily found in the house.

Method #1

The first method is a very simple one, and requires minimal resources. All you have to do is find an empty or reusable spray bottle and fill it with clear white vinegar.
Then, spray the vinegar on the surfaces that have been encroached upon by the mold and mildew. You can easily scrub off the growth with the help of a small scrubber or a simple cloth.

Method #2

The second method requires the use of hydrogen peroxide, which is a very good anti-mold and mildew agent. All you have to do is mix the chemical in a bucket of water and wipe it over the affected surface, with the help of a cloth. Bear in mind that you keep the proportion to 1:3 of the hydrogen peroxide and the amount of water that you use.

Method #3

Tea tree oil is another very good substance that you can use to clean mold and mildew. Mix about a spoon of tea tree oil in a cup of water to clean surfaces that have been infested wit the growth.
You can also use other natural substances, such as pine oil and borax, to clean mold and mildew. It is, however, advisable that you do not overuse the cleansing agent while cleaning the surfaces. Another word of caution, wear gloves while cleaning, as your skin might be allergic to some of the substances present in them.
