A dishwasher is an important appliance in today's fast paced life, since it saves a lot of time and effort. One should try and learn how to deal with simple problems related to the repair and maintenance of this equipment.
The different problems related to a dishwasher include leakage, noise produced by the equipment, inefficient drainage, etc. Let us understand how to troubleshoot a dishwasher for these problems.

Drainage Problem

When the pump is not functioning properly, water gets accumulated in the dishwasher. One of the problems related to the pump could be the clogging of drain lines. In some cases, the drain hose doesn't channel water to the pipes in a proper manner.
The first step in troubleshooting this problem is to remove the cover, which is located in the air gap present above the sink. It should be cleaned with the help of a wire. One should also check whether there are blockages present in the drainage hose. The connection to the disposer should especially be checked for clogs.
In some dishwashers, it is possible to remove the strainer, which is located at the cabinet base, under the bottom spray arm. One should lift the spray arm by unscrewing the hubcap. The strainer should be removed and cleaned properly.

Noise Problem in Dishwasher

The problem related to noise caused in this home appliance can be solved by undertaking the following steps. The inlet filters need to be checked. One should check whether the spray arm is damaged or any obstructions are present.
The water inlet valve should also be tested to see if it produces noise. The noise might be produced by the blade or fan motor. The motor and mount should also be checked for noise.

Water Leakage

Water leakage is also one of the problems that might affect the functioning of this kitchen appliance. The leakage at the base of the dishwasher is a common problem. The problem might arise due to improper handling of the machine rather than it being faulty.
One should first check the following things before consulting a professional. The usage of detergents in which sudsing is more could be a reason behind water leakage. The quantity of detergent being used needs to be reduced in such cases. Improper loading of dishes is also one of the reason behind water leakage.
A faulty door gasket too causes water leakage. The door tightness adjustment need to be checked to see whether it causes water leakage. The hoses (by removing them from the front panel) should to be checked to see whether a leaky hose is a cause behind water leakage.

Wiring Problems

These are commonly occurring problems in dishwashers. The connection is mostly broken down because of burning. Replacing the wire is a solution in such cases. The wiring to the door switch, lower part of the dishwasher, between doors, and to the timers should be checked.
Troubleshooting dishwasher problems such cases can be carried out by repairing them using connectors and appliance grade-wire.
